Microsoft Corporation is a public multinational corporation headquartered in Redmond, Washington, USA that develops, manufactures, licenses, and supports a wide range of products and services predominantly related to computing through its various product divisions. Established on April 4, 1975 to develop and sell BASIC interpreters for the Altair 8800, Microsoft rose to dominate the home computer operating system (OS) market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by the Microsoft Windows line of OSs. The ensuing rise of stock in the company’s 1986 initial public offering (IPO) made an estimated four billionaires and 12,000 millionaires from Microsoft employees. Microsoft would come to dominate other markets as well, notably the office suite market with Microsoft Office.

Bill Gates (CEO) and Paul Allen were the primary founders of the company officially named Microsoft on April 4th, 1975. Best friends with a desire to program computers. Up on till 1983, Microsoft had expanded making their own Operating System, Publishing division and more. Allen resigned later that year after he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Disease.
Bill Gates then made is own OS called Microsoft Windows in 1995. Only 6 years later on November 15 Microsoft released their own sixth generation gaming system called Xbox. With Sony and Nintendo still on the market in 2002 the Xbox placed second in units sold behind Nintendo. Bill Gates also expanded the gaming world wide with the new built in hard drive that allowed gamers to burn music to be used as soundtracks while playing games, save game data, and the Xbox Live feature released in the same year that allows gamers to play online with each other from all around the world. In 2004 Halo 2 made over 125 million in the first month, Microsoft then made a deal to allow EA Games on XBL.
The last game released on the Xbox was Madden NFL 09, on August 12, 2008.
